    Dance Faculty of Mother Tongue Languages Faculty of Music Faculty of Theatre Faculty of Visual Arts Library SOTA Organisation Chart Shelly Quick is originally from Canada but has been teaching and practising theatre in Singapore for the past fifteen years Her main interest in theatre is in directing but she has also worked as a performer and dramaturge in recent years Shelly began directing whilst attending Queen s University where she completed a B A H in English literature and Drama She later completed her Bachelor of Education at Western University specialising in teaching Drama and English literature at the secondary school level She has over ten years teaching experience mainly in IB schools The recent local productions which she partook are TheatreStray s Lower Depths 61 Kerbau Road a site specific performance devised around the classic Russian play by Maxim Gorky Operaviva SIFAS production of Kannagi an original chamber opera composed by John Sharpley and World in Theatre s Precious Little a collection of short plays by Samuel Beckett For Shelly the idea of young people practising theatre arts is a natural one She herself first experienced the stage as a young girl helping out her parents who ran

    Dance Faculty of Mother Tongue Languages Faculty of Music Faculty of Theatre Faculty of Visual Arts Library SOTA Organisation Chart Cheng Chye graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science Mathematics Post Graduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Arts Honours in English Language Early in his teaching career Cheng Chye was seconded to Outward Bound Singapore as Head Programmes and Development following which he returned to teach Mathematics and English at Outram Secondary School and General Paper at Temasek Junior College Cheng Chye also spent 5 years as deputy director of Youth Expedition Project YEP a programme of Singapore International Foundation Prior to joining SOTA Cheng Chye was Curriculum Development Specialist and Head of the Raffles Institute for Experiential Learning a specialist unit of Raffles Junior College As an experiential educator Cheng Chye strives for practice informed by theory specialising in the field of Service Learning Adventure Education and Diversity Education He has presented papers at various conferences including the Asia Pacific Conference for Gifted Education and the National Youth Leadership Conference An outdoor enthusiast Cheng Chye represented Singapore in the first ASIAN Sport Climbing championship in South Korea and was an Instructor Assessor
