    at Meritus Mandarin Singapore s ballroom Organised by Overseas Union Enterprise Limited OUE and supported by the Central Singapore Community Development Council CS CDC the luncheon titled OUE Celebrates The Golden Years was graced by guest of honour Mr Zainudin Nordin Mayor of Central Singapore District Kicking off with a symbolic mega yu sheng toss the guests included the beneficiaries from Central Singapore District Mayor Zainudin Nordin management from OUE and 15 current employees who are 62 years old and above About 120 staff volunteers from OUE Meritus Hotels Resorts Meritus Mandarin Singapore and Marina Mandarin Singapore were present to help serve lunch and interact with the senior citizens The 400 elderly beneficiaries are from the Central Singapore CDC s Bright Home programme This programme aims to provide sustainable assistance and social interaction to low income elderly residents in the Central Singapore District In addition to the Lo Hei luncheon the senior citizens were entertained by staff performances and music from a local Chinese orchestra They were also presented with goodie bags filled with red packets and Mandarin oranges Chief Executive Officer Group Managing Director of OUE Mr Thio Gim Hock said Chinese New Year symbolises family gatherings and respect

    Children s Hospital OUE welcomed the children of Children s Cancer Foundation CCF and KK Women s Children s Hospital KKH to the Stars of Christmas Party on 8 December 2010 and to its Annual Christmas Luncheon on 23 December 2010 The children were accompanied by their parents siblings and caregivers CCF is a non profit organisation that aims to provide programmes and services through support channels such as CCF KKH Resource Centre to aid children and families of childhood cancer and improve their quality of lives through enhancing their emotional social and medical well being Jointly supported by Meritus Hotels Resorts MHR OUE s hospitality division the children attended the Stars of Christmas Party for anafternoon of fund and games filled with delectable festive treats As part of our dedication to the community the children were encounraged to hang stars representing the wish of each patient onto a giant Christmas tree at Mandarin Orchard Singapore Management staff and hotel guests were then encouraged to fulfil children s wishes by donating presents before Christmas Day The Christmas charity drive culminated in an Annual Christmas Luncheon hosted by OUE Children accompanied by their caregivers were treated to a sumptuous banquet and
