  • How do you describe your brand personality
in business Perhaps you are a start up or maybe your company has been around for a few years During a conversation you are asked What is your product service brand personality You ask yourself Are we supposed to have a brand personality and if so how in the heck do I get one I would venture to say that if you asked some top management or a new start up about their brand personality they would tell you that they don t have one The truth of the matter is yes they do even if they aren t able to articulate it at the moment Let s look at this from a different angle As individuals we all have a personality Some personalities are outgoing some introverted some are loud and colorful others fairly tame and unnoticeable As individuals we tend to gravitate to people whose personalities we find appealing The same principle applies to brands We are drawn to products or services with personalities that appeal to us For new products being introduced into the market the key to increasing potential sales is to create a brand personality that closely mirrors that of your target audience Think about the computer geek who buys hip hop clothes He doesn t necessarily follow the trends of hip hop artists he buys this style of clothes so that he is able to mimic the personality of the cool people he idolizes so that he will be able to fit in and be accepted The closer you are able to align your brand personality with that of your target audience the greater the chance you have of connecting with her when she is ready to buy What is your brand personality and is it in line with that of your target audience

  • Understanding Brand Perception
all about perception is it possible for a business to create the image or perception they want to have in the marketplace The answer is yes Whether you are an established business or an entrepreneur just starting out you can lead target audience in developing a perception about your business Remember as we said when perception is nothing more than a belief someone has established overtime Your sale is to project your business in such as a way that the prospective outcome will formulate an opinion or create a perception about your business based on what she has seen or heard For instance let s take a look at color Incorporating the five senses as a means to developing our perception can be very powerful Using our visual sense and in this case looking at color we can see how color can play a major role in establishing perception There are certain colors that we associate with different things on events We think of baby blue and pink as the colors associated with newborn baby boys and girls red for love hence red is used significantly during Valentine s Day and red for Chinese New Year the color of luck A person considering a day care centre should focus on primary colors red blue yellow The primary colors could be used in the company name marketing collaterals letterhead business cards and media kits and in the décor of the centre itself The colors signify again the perception that this is a place for children Parents may have some reservations about placing their child in a centre in which the color used by the company is all black with Goth décor I don t know about you but this would not instill faith in me about the abilities of the childcare
