    whom are they selling In other words who is their target audience Invariably there is always one person who responds we sell to everyone This is a major misconception many entrepreneurs and companies hold This is incorrect thinking as it is not possible to sell to everyone If you try to be everything to everyone you re nothing to no one Yes you might think there are products out there in the market that everyone needs such as toilet paper Yet in actual fact there are societies and cultures that do not use toilet paper To market and sell your product you must be able to clearly and conscientiously identify who your target audience is The more you know about her the better By the way I say her because women make 80 of the household purchasing decisions Where does your prospect live Is she married or single With kids or without Is she a working woman or a full time homemaker caregiver What is her average household income Does she travel If so where and how often The more you know about her the better you will be at connecting with her to gain her interest in your product or service when she s ready to buy No time to conduct your own market research Employ secondary research techniques and use data that has already been assimilated Look for magazines or trade publications that cater to your specific target audience Request by email or download the publications media kit It will give you a breakdown on the readers demographics Once you have this vital information you now have a better all around idea of who your target audience is and how to market to her So the next time someone asks you who you sell to your answer will
