    Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home Sept 01 Teachers Day Sept 01 Teachers Day 01 Sep 2011 On 1 September 2011 the school held a Teachers Day cum Mid Autumn Festival Celebration with the theme 中秋谢师恩 Your dedication Our Appreciation It was a day for students to thank their teachers for the utmost effort and dedication that they put into educating their students Students came to school with hand written cards flowers cookies and many gifts to show their heartfelt appreciation to their beloved teachers As the teachers made their way to 正心园 for the opening ceremony they were greeted by a sea of Dunmanians who presented each and every teacher with a personalized glass jar nicely decorated by the students themselves Contained within the jar were notes of heartfelt thanks written by students The opening ceremony started with an opening address by Dr Foo who lauded teachers for their ennobling contributions towards moulding the future of our nation While our teachers efforts were being appreciated our Chinese traditions were also not forgotten with Mid Autumn Festival being just around the corner There was thus the cutting of a mooncake to commemorate this special day Afterwhich there was a flash

    aspect of the activities is the social community to motivate members to adopt an active attitude towards tackling obesity Despite a fiercely contested field of 7 603 international teams the team clinched second place in the 19 and under application development category Thus the students and their parents were rewarded with a trip to ThinkQuest Live an all expenses paid educational conference and awards ceremony at San Francisco USA from October 2 6 2011 During the trip the students were engaged in educational workshops and activities such as virtual Mount Everest climbing team building and technopreneurship They also attended social events and networked with the best young brains from other international winning teams as well as Oracle Education Foundation staff This allowed them to have first hand appreciation of the diverse cultures around the world They were also brought on sightseeing excursions to the San Francisco Bay Area visiting places such as the Golden Gate Bridge Pier 39 Alcatraz and the California Academy of Sciences The highlight of the trip would be the ThinkQuest Awards Dinner when they showcased their winning entry to distinguished Oracle management and guests and were honored for their achievements in contributing a significant educational resource to the global community Another noteworthy and memorable activity was the first ever collaborative lip dub created by all winners www youtube com watch v pQA8ex5MbT0 Apart from the ThinkQuest agenda the students also visited Stanford University and Google Mountain View Headquarters These allowed them to learn more about US university education as well as gain deeper insights about how a world class innovative organization pursues its mission to organize the world s information and make it universally accessible and useful The ThinkQuest Live experience definitely opened up the students eyes and broadened their horizons It also affirmed the school

    Apps Contact Us All Campus Life Campus Life Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home Oct 14 Year 6 Farewell Ceremony Oct 14 Year 6 Farewell Ceremony 16 Oct 2011 The Year 6 Farewell Ceremony was held on 14 October 2011 Fri to mark the end of the six year Integrated Programme journey of the Year 6 Class of 2011 Having started with the Year 1 Orientation Theme Ahoy this ceremony was aptly themed Bon Voyage While the students celebrated their friendships and the culmination of their efforts over the years it was clear on their faces that it was really a bittersweet occasion that also marked the end of a memorable journey The event began with the Principal Dr Foo Suan Fong sharing his belief that Dunmanians across generations would always be interconnected by emotional ties to the school as the phrase 一日德明人 一世德明情 goes The Senior High teachers also put up heartwarming departmental items where messages of encouragement and touching memories of their times spent with the students were shared The students were subsequently presented with their school testimonials and a gold collar badge bearing the school crest which signified their everlasting ties to Dunman High Samuel Lee President of the 4 th Senior High Student Council represented the students in delivering an address which reminisced the times they had spent together and applauded all teachers for their tireless efforts In his closing address Vice Principal Senior High Mr Kevin Gan aptly reminded the students to embody the school mission and motto after their graduation The Farewell Ceremony ended with a surprise for the Year 6s where all four Year Heads who had seen the students through their six years in the school led in a sing a long
