    Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home Learning Festival Senior High Learning Festival Senior High 07 Jul 2010 The Senior High Learning Festival 2010 took place on 7 and 8 July 2010 The Learning Festival aims to equip Senior High students with important soft skills to enhance their personal potential and effectiveness and to help pave their way for future success The theme for this year s Learning Festival was Communicating for Success where students attended the following workshops Write for Success where students practised skills for effective writing of personal statements resumes request letters etc Interview for Success where tips and techniques on preparing oneself for the interview were shared The Image for Success Looking Good Feeling Good where an awareness of personal etiquette and grooming was heightened Etiquette for Success Dining where students learnt about dining etiquette through practice Speak for Success I Thinking on Your Feet where students were trained on developing themselves as confident and persuasive speakers Speak for Success II Singlish Or English to help students improve their English pronunciation such as through the use of phonics Much appreciation goes to the team of teachers who had planned the successful event Mdm Leong Foong Lin Mdm

    Booking Archives Contact Us Home Partners Administration DHS Apps Contact Us All Campus Life Campus Life Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home Youth Alumni Sharing Session Youth Alumni Sharing Session 16 Jul 2010 With the intention of sharing our collective experiences with our juniors coupled with the desire to give back to the school the Dunman High School Youth Alumni DHSYA held our second annual YA Sharing Session on the evening of Friday 16 July 2010 in the Student Study Centre More than 100 Senior High students came to find out about their options beyond the A Levels and also sought tips on examinations interviews and definitely NS life More than 30 Dunmanian alumni studying different courses in different countries and even those who had started working came down that evening to share their collective experiences with the audience The evening started off with an introductory session by seniors Wong Keng Hoe Annabel Koh and Chua Meng Shuen who touched on the fundamental must knows with regard to university life the factors one might want to consider when choosing where and what to study and whether to take up a

    Professional Sharing Day 14 09 2012 Resources and Useful Links Venue Booking Archives Contact Us Home Partners Administration DHS Apps Contact Us All Campus Life Campus Life Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home Racial Harmony Day Senior High Racial Harmony Day Senior High 21 Jul 2010 Racial Harmony Day was commemorated on July 21 2010 for the Senior High Section In line to the theme Embracing Diversity Building Community the students were given insights into the concept of prejudice and discrimination as part of the school s assembly programme The programme was chaired by the NE Head for Senior High Ms Krishnan Students were first introduced and asked to explain concepts such as bias discrimination diversity prejudice racial profiling and stereotype Thereafter a panel of teachers of various ethnicity shared with the students what it meant to them to be a member of either of the four major ethnic groups in Singapore The consensus was that though they are pigeon holed into the major ethnic groups each of them was also distinctly diverse due to the nature of their ancestory When asked about experiences of being discriminated all of them shared that in Singapore they have not witnessed any overt form of discrimination The panel raised the hope that though Singapore is multicultural and ethnically diverse Singaporeans should be recognized for their contribution and not their ascribed status It is through this recognition that a strong resilient community be built One of the panelist Miss Anne Tan summed up the feeling that she would like to be identified as a Singaporean Chinese and not as a Chinese Singaporean This was reinforced by Mr Najeeb who shared that he would like to be recognized for his talents and contributions and hope

    Partners Administration DHS Apps Contact Us All Campus Life Campus Life Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home IDMI IDMI 27 Jul 2010 This year s Interdisciplinary Multiple Intelligences IDMI project was a joint project between the Language Arts and the Science departments The concept behind the IDMI project had been to show how the utilising of different members Multiple Intelligences Howard Gardner will ensure maximised learning The theme for this year s IDMI project was Change The project was designed to enable students to have a greater understanding of the social impact of change brought upon society by science By being tasked to develop a movie plot involving people affected by scientific change students were able to better understand the impact of science on society beyond the laboratory and the textbook For assessment the students were to write two research reports and a film proposal produce an original film and present it to a panel of assessors with an oral presentation about their learning journey for the entire project Research was undertaken as early as January and students were allowed to come up with their own topics This was done

    Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home Youth Day Celebrations Youth Day Celebrations 02 Jul 2010 This year Youth Day Celebrations in Dunman High was held on 2 nd July and was a blast for the school population where they enjoyed a day of fun filled and enriching activities planned around the theme for the celebrations this year A Dynamic Dunmanian with a Heart for Care Having all Dunmanians embody qualities of dynamism such as determination fighting spirit and the strive for excellence while having empathy for others and reaching out to make a difference in others lives was a key focus for the celebrations and gave rise to a series of activities designed to achieve such objectives Bring It On Be You Be Youth was the tagline for the celebration and represented the key components namely the Telematch and Class Game Sessions the YOUTHtube Showcase and the DHS Youth Pledge and Youth Montage The Telematch and Class Games Sessions brought out the active personality of all Dunmanians as they persevered through a series of challenging games where classes displayed team spirit friendship and camaraderie in the face of adversity and competition This activity highlighted to them the need for possession of such qualities in order to overcome ordeals in life and obstacles that lie ahead The YOUTHtube Showcase featured young talents among Dunmanians who put up impressive performances to wow the student body Ranging from singing items to dances and drama these youths undoubtedly showcased the vibrancy in youthful dynamism The DHS Youth Pledge allowed all Dunmanians to pen down and express what they pledged to do for those around them and themselves Pledge cards went on display for the school to see and many of the pledges were indeed heartwarming to read and showed the
