    2012 Resources and Useful Links Venue Booking Archives Contact Us Home Partners Administration DHS Apps Contact Us All Campus Life Campus Life Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home Mathematics and Science Olympiad 2010 Mathematics and Science Olympiad 2010 01 Jun 2010 The Mathematics Society and Science Society jointly organized the 3 rd Dunman High School Math and Science Olympiad held from 1 June to 3 June 2010 for primary schools students The competition aims to promote Mathematics and Science with primary school students and provide them with an opportunity to learn how Math and Science can be applied beyond their textbooks This year 68 students from 9 primary schools in Singapore took part in the competition The theme for this year is Willy Wanka s Rainbow Factory and the activities revolve around colours For the Science component participants learnt about some concepts and had hands on sessions on electrolysis making a detergent propelled boat carrying out food tests making their own indicators and creating their own aquarium and coloured beads For the Math component the participants cracked logical puzzle games learnt about Trigonometry made their own clinometers and learnt about

    Campus Life Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home Softball Training Camp Softball Training Camp 23 Jun 2010 Finally The long awaited camp has been conquered Although it was tiring we had great fun During the camp we had to push ourselves to the limit We were told to challenge our physical and mental abilities Despite having to wake up in the wee hours we managed to learn valuable lessons from it Softball training was different as compared to our routine practice We worked mainly on our physical fitness Although it was tough we endured it through as a team and encouraged each other to persevere on As the saying goes all work and no play make Jack a dull boy Of course we had our own fair share of play and fun too In the afternoons we had team bonding games and telematch We also attended a workshop on how to organise an internal event Surprisingly we managed to brainstorm new and interesting ideas for the upcoming softball workshop for primary school students as part of our softball Community Involvement Programme in November Some other activities include Treasure Hunt and

    EZCOETNL Mission Vision Logo Professional Sharing Day 14 09 2012 Resources and Useful Links Venue Booking Archives Contact Us Home Partners Administration DHS Apps Contact Us All Campus Life Campus Life Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home Volleyball Training Camp Volleyball Training Camp 21 Jun 2010 In the last week of June 2010 DHS volleyball family held its first camp for all 6 teams from the 3 divisions The objective of the camp was to allow the 6 teams to bond together as a family and to prepare a farewell tea party for their Year 6 seniors to wish them all the best for their A levels This camp was made possible by a committee of 15 students from the different divisions working together It was no easy feat as the committee planned this camp amidst their busy schedules of volleyball competitions common tests and project submissions Through the team bonding activities the students learnt the importance of complementing each other s strengths and accepting each other s weaknesses which is especially important in the game Besides that students also learnt simple First Aid such as ways to deal with

    Life Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home June 24 25 Staff Seminar June 24 25 Staff Seminar 24 Jun 2010 This year Dunman High s Mid Year Staff Seminar was held on 24 25 June to provide staff with the opportunity to participate in a variety of workshops for their professional and personal development The 2 day event was held within the school campus Day 1 started with an address from our Principal Dr Foo Suan Fong where he brought staff through a summary of the first half a year s events and provided a glimpse of what could be expected for the rest of the year New initiatives like the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard tool and the development of a Dunman High Integrated Programme DHP framework were also shared In the afternoon teachers were given a choice of 1 of 5 concurrent workshops These were on Learning Circles TN fundamental concepts in research study the use of Ink 2 Studio coaching skills and critical thinking tools Many teachers had enjoyed the sessions as they found them enriching and relevant to their work The second day started with a fun and interesting pronunciation workshop for all staff including the EAS This was organised in line with the initiative for Whole school approach to enhancing English Language proficiency of teachers and students Everyone had a good laugh trying to enunciate the h in What and getting their tongues twisted with phrases like Six thick thistle sticks During Contact Time in the afternoon we bade farewell to Miss Tan Jen Fee who was retiring from the service after 31 5 years We wish her the best in her golden years The event ended with a leisurely recreational segment where staff could
