    Home Partners Administration DHS Apps Contact Us All Campus Life Campus Life Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home May 20 Basketball A Div Championship May 20 Basketball A Div Championship We Have A Dream National Top 4 Our Basketball Boys started training in early March stepping up the intensity compared to previous batches in their preparation for this year s A Division competition They committed to a thrice weekly 7 pm 10 pm training schedule over a period of 3 months in the midst of their busy school schedule During this process many of them suffered various sport injuries from the trainings and competitions But because of our camaraderie and shared dream our boys never gave up We were grouped together with Anglo Chinese School I Catholic JC Nanyang JC Jurong JC and traditional strong team Raffles Institution in the preliminary round and had a very challenging schedule to play 5 intense matches over a span of 2 weeks Through our persistence we overcame all the other schools to emerge as Group s Runners up to the more experienced Raffles Institution and progress to the quarter finals for the first time in our history Our opponents in this next round included Hwa Chong Institution champion Anderson Junior College 2 nd and Victoria Junior College 4 th Anyone in their right mind would have overlooked us in favour of the other 3 teams who stood a much better chance to make it to the semi finals But against all odds the boys did the school proud by trouncing Anderson Junior College 63 45 in that crucial match to emerge as group runner s up after Hwa Chong Institution and made our second history this year to become one of the National

  • May 04: Combined CCA concert
    overwhelming response from the audience Each performing arts group performed the pieces they presented at the Singapore Youth Festival SYF Central Judging this year that received high commendation from the judges and cliched the Gold and Gold with Honours award The opening piece Spring Festival Overture was played by Junior High Guzheng Ensemble followed by The Dawn Wind sung by the Senior High Choir Listening to these sounds we know that the dawn wind is coming and bringing a whole new world The Junior High Choir then spread their beautiful choral voices to the audience with 4 repertoires that was mood lifting The Senior High String Ensemble and the Guitar Ensemble were next up in the line of performances presenting famous classical pieces namely Elegy for Strings Op 58 and L Estro Armonico Op 3 No 8 Concerto Grosso in A minor 1st movement Allegro The Guitar Ensemble presented 4 repertoires both classical and modern pieces Rain Fantasia of Water and Light caught the audiences attention when drums and timpani were used to bring out the magnificent image of water and light as the theme Water is the source of life and thus in the song the composer depicts rain which fills Earth with life from many different perspectives In the middle of the song a storm comes and passes At the end he shows us a rainbow which is the symbol of happiness and peace After the intermission Senior High Guzheng Ensemble played two pieces East Sea Fishermen that depicts the life of fishermen and Yue meaning happiness Mozart s famous piece Turkish March played on Guzheng gave audience a refreshing feel Combined String Ensemble played to the audience the Theme from Superman a familiar tune that is deeply felt by many who are superman s fans The Junior

    Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home May 17 20 Year 2 Level Camp May 17 20 Year 2 Level Camp 17 20 May 2011 17 th May 2011 saw some 400 odd intrepid explorers venture out of the comforts of home and school to Pulau Ubin for their Level Camp They chattered non stop as the buses sped to the jetty and they were whisked away in bum boats to Ubin s distant shores Their three days began with tent pitching amid much laughter and shouts of derision and encouragement as they struggled to set up their sleeping quarters for the next two nights That done the various groups split up to embark on activities like orienteering kayaking and the high elements From the screams shouts and cheers improvised rafting was something that they thoroughly enjoyed and kayaking was a novel activity for some Night activities included trust building as a team of blind folded students were in turn led by the camp instructors and sometimes a member of their team Without sight the various teams navigated obstacles and learned to listen intently to their guide The next day saw the teams embarking on different activities in
