    Apr 07 A Journey of Badminton B Boys 07 Apr 2011 Badminton B Division Boys journey to the Nationals 2011 The team involved in the Competition 01 See Ren Hao 11Y4F Captain 02 Li Han Lin 11Y4A 03 Wong Jun Han Nicholas 11Y4A 04 Tan Siew Wei 11Y4A 05 Wong Zhen George 11Y4F 06 Soon Teng Hong Roy 11Y4G 07 Seah Hui Rong Sebastian 11Y4K 08 Cheng You Jie Jerrold 11Y3A participated in East Zone only 09 Teo Fu Wei 11Y3B 10 Lim Tze Choaw Jovan 11Y3B participated in Nationals only 11 Lim Kay Ming Elton 11Y3C 12 Lim Ke Zhang 11Y3G 13 Lim Yee Han 11Y3L East Zone Round 1 After 3 grueling weeks of first round of Zonal competitions the Badminton B Boys managed to beat 5 other schools thus securing the top placing in their group The Badminton B Boys thus progressed to the next round of competitions East Zone Round 2 Despite steep challenge from 3 schools having good track record in badminton our B boys worked very hard to overcome the odds and did the school proud by securing the top position in this group marching on proudly to the semi finals East Zone Semi Finals Finals Despite the backing of hordes of supporters from the opponent school during the semi finals our players kept focused on their goal to be able to play in the finals The team eventually managed to tear down the strong resistance from the Greenview ians by taking one point at a time and cheering one another on Unfortunately during the East Zone Finals we lost to the Anglican High s team to become 2 nd in the East Zone Badminton Championship Despite the fact that we lost our badminton boys fought as hard as they could and brought new

    Links Venue Booking Archives Contact Us Home Partners Administration DHS Apps Contact Us All Campus Life Campus Life Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home May 21 24 Twinning Programme Cyberjaya Malaysia May 21 24 Twinning Programme Cyberjaya Malaysia 21 May 2011 Our school has been selected by the Ministry of Education to take part in a School Twinning Programme with Malaysia to establish linkages with top schools in Malaysia It aims to enhance educational linkages and strengthen bilateral education collaborations between Singapore and Malaysia On the 21 st to 24 th of May the year 3 Malay Special Programme MSP students accompanied by 2 teachers Ms Selvi and Mdm Noorizan Beevi went for an immersion trip to Malaysia This trip marks the inaugural visit by our students to our twinning school Sekolah Seri Puteri SSP in Cyberjaya Malaysia This programme provided our MSP students an opportunity to forge long term friendship with students from Malaysia Apart from learning more about the culture tradition and religion of the Malays in Malaysia our students were also able to converse more confidently in Malay with students from SSP over the span of four days The rich interaction during the short home stay enabled our students to appreciate fully the beautiful culture heritage language and common history of both Singapore and Malaysia During the 4D3N trip our students visited many different places of interest in Malaysia One first stop was at Kampung Belimbing where our students were given the opportunity to try many different activities from rubber tapping to gasing playing to even eating authentic Malay cuisine using their own hands When night falls we managed to take a river cruise to catch the breathtaking view of the glowing fireflies along the river banks

    Campus Life 2012 Campus Life 2011 Campus Life 2010 Campus Life 2009 Campus Life 2008 Home May 28 Jun 04 Wushu Jinan China May 28 Jun 04 Wushu Jinan China 28 May 2011 The Dunman High Wushu team embarked on an overseas training trip to Jinan Shandong Province from 28 May 2011 to 4 June 2011 A total of 17 students from Year 2 to 5 accompanied by 2 teachers lMs Wong Yee Kwan and Mr Lee Chee Keen left Singapore for Jinan on the evening of 27 May 2011 The objectives of this overseas training trip are to allow our team members to engage in cultural exchange and practise their Wushu skills to train and plan the group item for National Inter school Wushu Championships 2012 with the students and instructors at Shandong Province Wushu Institution Most importantly it is to allow our members to achieve greater heights in Wushu through 4 days of intensive training During this overseas training trip our team members trained at Shandong Province Wushu Institution a training base for China s top athletes Besides the intensive training our team members were also able to bond with one another throughout the duration of the trip They also interacted with the athletes of the Wushu Institution and forging friendships with visiting teams from other countries Other than picking up Wushu skills the students also immersed themselves in both traditional and modern Chinese culture by visiting some of the popular places of interest in Jinan such as the Kong Mansion 孔府 Kong Temple 孔庙 Kong Lin 孔林 On the way back to Singapore the team also stopped by Shanghai for a half day tour to experience the bustling city after spending 6 days in laidback Jinan Thng Jingxiong of 3B mentioned Although our Wushu skills are not

    2008 Home May 29 Jun 06 Geography Auckland NZ May 29 Jun 06 Geography Auckland NZ 29 May 2011 On 29 th May 2011 a group of 36 Geography enthusiasts including 3 teachers embarked on a journey to North Island New Zealand for a 9 day 7 night trip So the saying goes Geography is best learnt through the soles of your boots Indeed the students traversed volcanic mountains beaches and rivers to gain an enhanced understanding of the discipline of Geography appreciating the intricate relationship and balance between the physical and human environments Moreover students got the opportunity to marvel at the wonders of nature when they visited the famous Glow worm caves in Waitomo and climbed the tallest volcano in North Island Mount Ruapehu Highlights of the trip also involved students conducting a study to delineate the Central Business District in Auckland and conducting a stream study at Mc Laren falls where they further augmented some of the abstract concepts learnt in class such as river sinuosity and hydraulic radius Every evening the Year 6 students were tasked to lead their juniors in Year 4 to make sense of the day s events through the big ideas in

    continued the next chapter of its epic journey in Rayong Thailand from the 31 st of May to 7 th June 2011 it was now time for us to leave our shores for the land of smiles A team of 18 students and 4 teachers led by Mrs Serene Chu arrived at Rayongwittayakom school on day one and were hastily swept away by Thai hospitality Our Thai guests from two weeks before have switched roles and are now playing hosts in their hometown Our welcome ceremony was an affair no less than majestic Traditional Thai dancers from our host school led the STEP contingent onto the assembly field where we were showered with attention from the Director Mr Manit Chanwan teachers and students After exchanging gifts and other formalities students set off to experience half a day of Thai culture language swordplay and authentic lessons conducted in Thai no less Thereafter our dearest hosts guided us through a series of tours within Rayong and other areas in Central Thailand including stopovers at a fruit farm confectionary rice farm and a towering river dam atop the mountains of Nakom Nayok We felt physically and figuratively miles away from Singapore as we were stunned by the natural beauty and serene lifestyle that Thailand had to offer Apart from sightseeing our team from Dunman High got ourselves wet during a white water rafting session across a meandering river Not forgetting there was always tom yam gung and other delectable Thai cuisine to replenish our energy and tantalise our taste buds at every pit stop Faster than we could say Sawat Dii Khrap our journey reached its closing moments back at Rayongwittayakom s school hall There our student volunteers put their dance skills to the test as they performed in their glorious traditional Thai
